The Champion must register a company in Hong Kong for the projects presented in order to be eligible for the investment prize in the form of call option. He/she must agree to a common set of terms and sign an individual agreement with each individual investor.
Should the Champion’s project be unable to pass the due diligence check, the investor judges has the right to disqualify the Champion for receiving the investment prize.
EPiC Selection Committee has the sole discretion to disqualify or remove any company/individual for any reason that is appropriate during the event.
EPiC Selection Committee assumes no responsibility to ensure the confidentiality of any information disclosed during the pitch events.
HKSTP is not responsible for any confidentiality issues that may occur before, during and/or after the event and will not be involved in any way with disputes arising therefrom.
Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) between an applicant and judges will not be required or allowed.
The pitching company/ individual may exclude any proprietary information or materials that the pitching company/ individual deems it is at risk of disclosure.
B) Online applications
All contents and materials submitted must be in English.
It is important to fill up "Business Overview", "Market Potential", "Technology Highlight", "Business Model" and "Revenue Model" in the application form with 200 words maximum per section as they represent the judging criteria. You may complete these sections except "Business Overview" in point forms.
All the information submitted in the application form should be true and correct to the best of the applicant's knowledge. Should any false or misleading information be found, the organiser reserves the right to disqualify the application.
Information submitted in the application form except the contact details will be published on HKSTP’s promotional channels including websites, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and the event booklet.
C) On the pitch day
The pitch materials should be in English. The presenter must present your idea in English, both within the elevator and on the stage. No interpretation will be provided.
Pitching schedule will be determined by the organising committee.
Shortlisted contestants are welcome to bring props, prototypes, products and tablets as visual aids in the 1-minute pitch in the elevator and the 3-minute final pitch on the stage.
HKSTP is granted permission to live broadcast the pitches inside the elevator and on stage at HKSTP's Facebook fan page. HKSTP is also allowed to take photos and record videos at the Elevator Pitch Competition and/ or any activities associated therewith, such photos/ videos will be published on website, Facebook, youtube channels for HKSTP’s promotional usages and not for any commercial purpose.
