A seasoned accountant turned tech entrepreneur, Ms. Katherine Lui likes to deviate
from the norms and do unconventional things. She recently co-founded CanBig with
Martin Tsang and Joe Lee. CanBig is a consulting business with a mission to stand from
tech founders’ point of view and with the entrepreneurial, finance and managerial
experience of CanBig’s team, to strive for the best value from the new tech ideas and
fast growing businesses.
In 2015, with Katherine’s extensive hands-on experience in the professional
accounting and finance world (IPO and Fund Raising) in the past 20 years, she
condensed the secret success recipe when she worked with fast growing companies
and developed her cloud based innovative SaaS (Software as a Service) product,
CanCan 看看™(currently called CanFreee 現今留®)which helps small and medium
size companies put financial matters in proper order and win.
CanCan 看看™ shows the boss real-time combined cash flows of multiple group
companies, it simplifies book keeping and financial reporting, and pushes real-time
data on its app. CanCan 看看™won its seed funding in 2016 from SOSV, one of the
world’s largest VCs. CanCan 看看™ has accumulated 100+ clients, mostly in the VC
backed TMT sector with China and international footing since launched.
Katherine also runs CanAsia Group, a management consulting firm founded by her in
2008 with offices in Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai that provides
acting CFO services or financial due diligence services in fund raising and M&A
consulting projects. She understands the pain running a small international group of
companies.
Before founding CanAsia Group, Katherine co-founded Centerstone Partners in 2005,
a cross-border private equity firm with offices in the U.S. and China. In her 12 years´
professional life in KPMG (Canada, Shanghai and Hong Kong), Katherine has travelled
and lived in many cities in China, leading IPO projects for Mega groups such as China
Mobile and Sinopec.
Katherine graduated from The University of Toronto (Bachelor of Commerce) and
obtained her Master of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business,
both in Ontario, Canada.
